I haven't used FC6 on HN yet, but 2.6.9 openvz kernel should work fine and you can't cause any destruction trying. You don't need to remove any kernels, download 2.6.9 and:

rpm -ivh FILE --force

Boot off the 2.6.9 in grub.conf and you should be rocking.
