Hi all,
I am trying to install OpenVZ for the first time but am not being able to install it using ovzkernel-2.6.8-022stab078.14.i686.rpm.
it gives me following error.

rpm -ihv ovzkernel-2.6.8-022stab072.2.i686.rpm
warning: ovzkernel-2.6.8-022stab072.2.i686.rpm: Header V3 DSA signature: NOKEY, key ID a7a1d4b6
error: Failed dependencies:
kernel < 2.6.9 conflicts with glibc-2.4-8.i686
kernel < 2.6.12 conflicts with initscripts-8.31.5-1.i386
kernel < 2.6.15 conflicts with hal-0.5.7.1-2.fc5.i386
kernel < 2.6.13 conflicts with kudzu-1.2.34.3-1.i386

I am not getting how to get around this problem ..

May be this is also useful for you to suggest me something

[root@cynara softwares]# rpm -qa | grep glibc
glibc-common-2.4-8
glibc-devel-2.4-8
glibc-headers-2.4-8
glibc-2.4-8
glibc-kernheaders-3.0-5.2

[root@cynara softwares]# rpm -qa | grep hal

hal-0.5.7.1-2.fc5
hal-cups-utils-0.5.5-1.2.fc5.2
hal-devel-0.5.7.1-2.fc5
hal-gnome-0.5.7.1-2.fc5

[root@cynara softwares]# rpm -qa | grep initscripts
initscripts-8.31.5-1

[root@cynara softwares]# rpm -qa | grep kudzu
kudzu-devel-1.2.34.3-1
kudzu-1.2.34.3-1

Can anyone suggest me what is wrong with my setup ?? And what do i need to install same kernel(ovzkernel-2.6.8-022stab072.2.i686.rpm). currently I am using 2.6.17-1.2157_FC5. I have AMD athlon 64 bit machine.

Then while searching on forum i found a reply asking to try
rpm -ihv --nodeps ovzkernel-2.6.8-022stab072.2.i686.rpm
which cud install the kernel then i followed the /etc/sysctl.conf setting which have been explained @ http://wiki.openvz.org/Quick_installation

But when i try to reboot the system it doesnt do anything
I dont have sata drive but an ide 80 gb drive.(somewhere i found this can also be the reason)

it shows :
uncompressing linux ..ok .. booting ..
initrd:GRUB workaround enabled

After this nothing happens ..

Can u tell me what do i need to do to make it work .
I went for stable one for just to make it work first and it didnt .So any help would be gr8ly appreciated.

Regards,
