The required kernel-firmware 2.6.32-504.8.1.el6 is inside the (not enabled) centosplus chapter CentOS-Base repo.
I believe according to some ftp mirrorlists on internet,

example: h t t p://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/centosplus/x86_64/Packages/

but if I enable or add option installpkgs=kernel-firmware,
or using yum priority's it doesn't get installed or show up as update.

#yum list kernel-firmware
still shows only version 3.3.el6 as latest version
