so 042stab057.1 is outdated, maybe you want to go with 042stab059.7.
I can't provide you an ebuild, because i don't use Gentoo, but i give
you a hint.

I got the same problems on ArchLinux on my work to provide an openvz
package for this distro. After many weeks of research i found the
problem, you need to use gcc 4.4.x! There is also an bugreport [0] for that.

I run sucessfully stable [1] and testing [2] kernels on an ArchLinux
systems, maybe you want merge some stuff in your ebuild.
