It is possible that the location of the private area in your config file doesn't match with where your scripts are looking; see this thread: http://forum.openvz.org/index.php?t=msg&goto=10540&

For example, Red Hat/Centos uses /vz/private but Ubuntu/Debian uses /var/lib/vz/private - similar changes for the quota & dump areas.

Cut & paste the error into google with quotes around it, and you should get some helpful answers.
