Config is - kernel-2.6.18-i686.config.ovz from http://wiki.openvz.org/Download/kernel/rhel5/028stab060.8 without any custom changes.

I'st way, that i use usualy

1. Patching. patch -dc patch-92.1.18.el5.028stab060.8-combined.gz | patch -p1 in folder with 2.6.18 http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v2.6/linux-2.6.18.tar .bz2
2. Renaming kernel-2.6.18-i686.config.ovz to .config
3. make oldconfig
4. (error at this step) make bzImage or just make
5. make modules
6. make install
7. make modules_install
8. making of initrd
9. update-grub

2'nd way have no success with OpenVZ kernels ever, non-OpenVZ 2.6.28 and 2.6.29.1 builds debs fine. But i tried both ways.

2. Renaming kernel-2.6.18-i686.config.ovz to .config
3. make oldconfig
4. make-kpkg --initrd --append-to-version=-openvz kernel_image kernel_headers
5. dpkg -i *.deb
