I have some openvz instances running on an ubuntu 8.0.4 server (32 bit) and all is going well. Can't complain about performance etc.

The thing is that I see within the /usr/lib/vz path two areas that look like the underlying VE's file system

/root and /private

How are they different?

How do I back up a VE other than by just tarballing up the whole path from VIED down? It's ok to stop the VE if I have to but would be nice to not have to.

I know there is vzmigrate ... haven't played with it yet. WAnt to understand things a little more first.
