the information you provide is a bit sparse.
somehow I doubt that you created your VPS according to one of the tutorials or as the manual describes it.
especially the sysctl parameters (manual page 27) have to be set. please make sure you follow all the required steps provided by the manual or the many many tutorials for the linux-distributions that are out there. also make sure that your HN is connected to the internet, eg. that dig/ping/yum/ssh (whatever) works properly on your HN, or it will be very unlikely that your VPS get's an connection to the outside world.

then, if you still can't get it working, post your config files and your setup layout and I'm sure we will find a solution. Very Happy
