You don't need to add anything.

to set ip to your VE:

# vzctl set $VEID --ipadd x.x.x.x --save


to remove

# vzctl set $VEID --ipdel x.x.x.x --save


if there are any problems check your sysctl parameters

if you're going to use private IPs this might be helpful
