I was thinking - maybe your problem could be a reached resource limit.

On your VE container and execute:

# cat /proc/user_beancounters

Look at column failcnt. Any other value than 0 means a reached resource limit.

I can sse that vzqouta failed. Try to turn off Linux quota.

This is just a wild guess.

What template are you using?
