The OpenVZ development kernel is changing all the time, because it serves as the staging ground for submitting patches to the mainline kernel. Once the patches are merged into mainline, then the OpenVZ kernel has to be reworked to sync back with mainline. So it always has new bugs.

You can run the OpenVZ stable kernel, but that may not be as solid as the commercial product. If you can afford the licenses and your customers/users are happy, why rock the boat?
