Microcode is also applicable to the processors of the x86_64 architecture:

Looks like support for microcode is broken in 2.6.20 & 2.6.22 OVZ kernels. i've submitted the bug# 745 for the issue.

If your problem is solved - please, report it!
It's even more important than reporting the problem itself...
