You could try the gentoo stages from here instead:

very new, shouuld be on openvz.org at somestage.

Hopefull well see some more gentoo action when baselayout 2 goes stable by I think that last one is of promise^

I am finding the stage your using pretty bad too you could use some other tested fedora/distro templates in the mean time too.
