Hi,

1. As to 2.6.18 kernel it seems the initrd here incorrectly created.
Please, try to create initrd manually. May be
http://wiki.openvz.org/Modifying_initrd_image helps you.

2. Is the BUG you received while using 2.6.22 in linux/arch/i386/kernel/microcode.c?
If it is right, please compile this kernel by yourself without microcode support.
