both VPS root and private directories should reside on the same partition.

You can fix it in 2 ways:

1. recommended way is to have whole /vz on a separate partition.

2. You can change VPS configuration
/etc/sysconfig/vz-scripts/<VPSID>.conf:
VE_ROOT="/vzt/root/$VEID"
VE_PRIVATE="/vzt/private/$VEID"
so that both dirs would reside on the same partition.
