You don't have to set netmask on VPS network interfaces (i.e. netmask is /32 and should not be changed), as VPS network interfaces (venet0) are not communicating over network directly; instead they are routed via 'real' network interface (e.g. eth0) and you should only care about this real network interface netmask.
