Thanks; that is a welcome contribution and does what I needed.

I managed to do it in a few less steps tho, which is important for resource-management when running a lot of things simultaneously. Wink

Now I just have to dig out the ol' Bash manual and noodle it to see if I can get it done w/o even having to call awk...
