Hello,
The upgrade of VE should not be very different from the upgrade of usual HN. However some small problems may appear. I suggest you to create a temporary test VE based on fc4, then update it till fc5 as usual node. During this process you'll find out some pitfalls and we'll help you if it'll be necessary. After this you can upgrade your production VEs using created scenario.
