The latest version and then just tired the version you noted below with
same error. We are currently rebuilding server and will attempt to
install again prior to updates. Any warnings appreciated.

which kernel version do you use? please report exact version.
RHEL4-OVZ kernel (which is 2.6.9) is recommended for use with CentOS
4.4.
