Hello,

I am rolling out some new software to one of my customers.

To make my life easier, I am using OpenVZ in order that I can build an instance back at the ranch and just ship the instance to the customer.

This is fine, however the instance I ship should match the target architecture.

My customer has bought a whizzy HP ProLiant dual dual core 2 duo box - and I tend to run AMD based servers with Gentoo 2006.1. Hence I have just ordered a couple of Dell quad core 2 duo boxes, so I can (sort of) match my customers environment.

There is no recent Gentoo template for this arch, so I am going to build the corresponding template, but It seems I need a little help from my friends Smile

I have read about template cache preparation at openvz and at Gentoo. the tools seem to favour rpm and yum, but others have done it for Debian and Gentoo, so people out their have the skills. Please will you give me some pointers and share those skills with me - I'll upload what I do.

Thanks in advance,

Best Regards, Paul.
