Yum errors on dependency checks when I try to install the stable ovz kernel on FC6.

--> Processing Conflict: kudzu conflicts kernel < 2.6.13
--> Processing Conflict: initscripts conflicts kernel < 2.6.12
--> Processing Conflict: hal conflicts kernel < 2.6.17
--> Processing Conflict: autofs conflicts kernel < 2.6.17
--> Finished Dependency Resolution
Error: kudzu conflicts with kernel < 2.6.13
Error: initscripts conflicts with kernel < 2.6.12
Error: hal conflicts with kernel < 2.6.17
Error: autofs conflicts with kernel < 2.6.17

How can I work around this. I obviously can't remove initscripts...

Will it be impossible to run OpenVZ on FC6 at the moment since even the unstable kernel is at version 2.6.16? Are there workarounds for this issue?

Thanks for your time,
Jonathan Guilbault.

1. Unstable kernel is 2.6.18-based.

2. You have to install the stable kernel manually with rpm -ihv --force, there is no way to work around it Sad

Thank you for the quick reply.

I will force the installation of the stable kernel, if there are issues due to the kernel version I will try the development kernel.

Thank you again,
Jon.
