hi,

I am an absolute newbie!
I have just finished installing openVZ and have created my first VM.
I have tried to install Wildfire instant messaging server. It relies on a jre. I have been able to install it. The first strange thing that I noticed comparing the installation in a "real" environment is the the /root/.install4j did not contain the correct version of the jre that Wildfire installs (it reporte a 0 as version). I modified the file and was able to pass the jre environment test. When I try to start the server it want start and in the log file I get the following error:
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
Could not create the Java virtual machine.

The host is running centOS 4.0 with kernel 2.6.8-022stab061.1-smp
The guest was byilt out of a centOS-4-default.

Hope I have represented the situation with enough details.

java consumes lot's of resources, so you saw out of memory
problems with default UBC settings. this included: numproc, privvmpages and kmemsize.
