Hi All, I am new to the list and just getting into using OpenVZ. I have
the following questions:

1) Does OpenVZ supports any type of load sharing and load balancing
across VMs on the same physical machine
and/or across different host via the Host OS.

2) How about Stanby Redundacy from two or more different HOST.

Just curious if any of the above type of technology solutions exist
using OpenVZ. I know this type of technology exist in the
router/firewall world - Would be nice if that kind of stuff is supported
for OpenVZ.

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Joe

You can easily install a squid load balancer to load balance http and
httpd traffic with 2/3 environments.

I'm not aware of any built-in support.

Hello
Is it possible to use multiple network devices? I have 3 network devices
(eth0,eth1,eth2) on hardware node and would like to use all 3 devices,
split VE into like
VE(1-10) eth0
VE(11-21) eth1
VE(22-35) eth2

Thanks

Hiro

Yes,
it is possible to setup routing so that different VEs traffic will go
through different ethX devices.
http://wiki.openvz.org/Source_based_routing
(with the difference that eth0 will be replaced to ethX in rule tables)

Thanks,
Kirill
