I was trying out the testing kernel on one of my testing servers. This is what was given to me when I try to install.

[root@SVR098 ~]# rpm -ivh kernel-2.6.18-ovz028test007.1.i686.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
kernel >= 2.6.10 conflicts with lksctp-tools-1.0.2-6.4E.1.i386

I have a production environment and I say OpenVZ rules.

If none of your applications require the sctp protocol support in the kernel, you can either remove the lksctp-tools rpm or install the openvz kernel rpm with options "--force".

lksctp-tools requires kernel support for the userspace tools to work correctly. sctp is currently not enabled in the openvz rpm kernels.

Ok, thanks. I will force the installation then.

Hi!

Any plans for virtualising sctp in the near future?
We compiled our own kernel (with sctp support), but it is only available from the HW node.
We would like to use sctp on veth interfaces from inside VEs.

Thanks!

(Should I have opened a new thread instead of digressing here?)

Hi szocske.

There are currently no plans to add virtualized sctp support however the project updates very quickly; if you request it there is a good chance it will be seriously considered.

Please create a bugzilla report with your feature request, and the project managers will prioritize it and possibly include it in the next release's roadmap.
