Working within an OpenVZ environment, how can I bring up different kinds of configurations on the same box.

For example, running RedHat with OpenVZ, I need to simulate OS#1 to run App#1 and App#2. Then OS#2 runs App#3 thur App#6. And then OS#3 will run App#7. Do I need to install all seven apps on the OS and turn each on as I bring up each OS?

And then I need to simulate failover with OS#3 and OS#4 each running App#7. Or I want to run different configuration files in the mix. How to I bring up a given simulation environment for a particular testing environment?

So, can how does OpenVZ do this?

Sorry, If I didn't undestand your question right.

If you wish to tun application in different evironments (different OS's, different configuration files, etc...), you should create VE for each case and install there your application.

HTH,
Vasily.
