I created VE with next services: Sendmail, Cyrus, ClamAV, OpenLDAP and Apache.
When the loading is big (about 5 mail/sec) the LDAP (and ClamAV) crashes during memory allocating.

slapd[16333]: ch_malloc of 8388608 bytes failed

When LDAP works on HN and other services are inside VE with the same loading - all is OK.

When LDAP works on separate VE than other services with the same loading - all is OK.

HN's resourses are overheaded by privvmpages parameter which is setted to 114688:131072 (512M physical memory + 2G swap).

Fault pages numbers (nFLT in top) are non-zero for other services too but only LDAP (and ClamAV) crashes.

VE is built from Fedora Core 4 except of OpenLDAP that is latest stable (2.3.27). OVZ kernel is latest stable (2.6.9-023stab032.1).

The questions are:
1) How much resources should I grant to VE for stable LDAP work?
2) Can 2 VE with privvmpages 114688:131072 work stable on machine with 512M physical memory and 2G swap?

have you tried simply to increase privvmpages limit?
