Hello,

We are getting following error while starting VPS.
---------------------
Unable to create lock file /vz/lock/119.lckBhM5yX, use --skiplock option:
Read-only file system
Unable to lock VPS
---------------------
Currently VPS shows as mounted.

We have CentOS release 4.4 installed on the server and
"2.6.8-022stab078.14-enterprise #1 SMP" openvz kernel.

If anyone knows the reason why this is happening, please assist.

according to this message some part of your file system is mounter read-only,
but vzctl tries to write some files there and fails.
check your mounts.
