Sorry the late answer.
Did you get this problem solved?

I have created a little vzmount/vzumount program.
As it mounts the filesystem as simfs, it works with checkpointing.

Attached file.
gcc -o vzmount vzmount.c
ln vzmount vzumount

./vzmount /source/dir /destination
./vzumount /destination
