Please, uncomment "baseurl" line in .conf file, that corresponds to [openvz] repo.

It worked before, how would it have become commented out?

Can you try running yum with more verbosity please?

Like 'yum -d 10 -e 10 update'

Also, please report your distro and yum version.

As a side note: if this happens with repos 'core', 'updates' or 'extras' and you are using Fedora Core, see this:

It should not happen with openvz repos, please try again...

Well, I'm not sure why it worked at all before I uncommented it, however...

The reason it doesn't work now is that this box apparently referenced an old DNS server that is no longer.

I meant an internal DNS server.
