Im a newbee so kindly bear with me incase this sounds too silly. I have installed open vz on centos 4 (i686). I have also successfully created a virtual server. But while installing any extra software I often encountered this error "Virtual memory exhausted". After searching for a while I found a small workaround to deal with this prob .i.e ulimit -v 60000 and it worked for few packages. But, after installing few more s/w packages I again encountered the same problem. I tried changing the kmemsize value but in vain. My RAM size is 1GB and Hard disk is 80 GB. The output of free -m and df -h looks as follows:

free -m:
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 943 679 263 0 49 530
-/+ buffers/cache: 99 843
Swap: 760 0 760

df -h:

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/sda2 73G 4.2G 65G 7% /
/dev/sda1 99M 32M 63M 34% /boot
none 472M 0 472M 0% /dev/shm

Any help is appreciated. Thx in advance!!
