Hi,

When i try to use NFS option(restarting nfs) gives me the following error:

nfssvc: Function not implemented

This means NFS module is not loaded in the kernel.

I used lsmod and found the following for nfs

nfs 101268 0

I tried modprobe and depmod to no effect. Where can i move from here regarding this NFS issue.

Hello!

Sorry, don't undestand completely your problem. Thus, from the
very beginning:

1) What are you trying to use NFS-server or NFS-client?
2) In VE or on HN?
3) More carefull description of problem: what are you doing? what is exact command?

Thanks!

Hi,

Iam in HN. Where iam trying to export a file from HN to all the vps under the HN. On HN when i type lsmod i receive the nfs module is not loaded(nfs =0). Iam trying to run nfs server on the HN and will configure the vps as the clients...

Also i have installed 2.6.16-026test014.4(2.6.8-stable too had the same problem so i try to upgrade to the latest)...

OK. Let's go step by step.

1) If you have installed OpenVZ kernel from rpm than there is no NFS-server support. You see "nfs 101268 0" in lsmod output, but this is module to use NFS-client. To use NFS-server on HN you should recompile OpenVZ kernel with CONFIG_NFSD parameter enabled.
2) Anywat you won't be able to mount NFS inside VE, 'cause NFS filesystem isn't virtualized.
3) Why do you need it? If you wish just export some directories to VEs from HN just use --bind option of mount.

HTH,
vass.
