Hi!
I installed the binary debian kernel package distribution with 022stab078.14 in it on debain stable i386, and I got depmod errors during install, and QM_MODULES function not implemented errors when booting.
Without really understanding what's going on, I installed the module-init-tools package, and it fixed everithing. (missing package dependency?)
It turned out not to support veth devices so I had to use my own kernel package, but it might be useful to others.
