Hi,

i will install openvz on a remote dedicated root server. this servers runs with Fedora 3 already so i think i will take openvz binary kernel and install with rpm.

So far, so good.

To beware from many try-error-restore cycles i hava a question concerning NIC.
i'm shure the server will boot, but i'm afraid that after reboot the NIC does not work and i get no access. so i will need re-install original os software (that can i do remotely at any time).

how can i be shure that the openvz kernel binaries will support the NIC and load the correct driver at boot.

Thank you very much,
Peter.

First of all, you can try to look your NIC up in the HCL.

Second, you'd install, not upgrade your kernel, so you have both OpenVZ and Fedora kernels in your boot menu. If the server becomes inaccessible after a reboot, ask the stuff of your colo provider to use the server's console to reboot it and select Fedora kernel from the boot menu.
