user_beancounters not reset? [message #5435]

For tuning the parameters I restart OpenVZ through:

# /etc/init.d/vz stop
(wait ten seconds)
# /etc/init.d/vz start

Today I saw that for one of the VE's, the counters were the same. So I did a stop and after 10 seconds did a

# cat /proc/user_beancounters

For al the VE's they were gone, except for the one with the strange behaviour. Even after a minute, the cat still gave the old bean_counters. I don't think this is normal? I noticed that the failcnt of lockedpages was reached, and that didn't happen the last week in all the VE's. Has that something to do with it?

Some items in user_beancounters take a while before they reset... even if you stop and restart the VPS. See here for more details:

Thanks for the link. I waited one minute, but the kmemsize property was zero, so according to this article it must be a bug Smile

. Tonight I'll do it again and wait for the suggested time. If it is still not zero, I'll file a bug.

For another test I had to take down the VE's. I waited more than ten minutes and the counters are still not zero. So it is definetly a bug and I'll file a report.
