Further investigation show:

[root@node01 ~]# ploop-balloon discard -d /dev/ploop45088 --stat
Unable to find mount point for /dev/ploop45088
Usage: ploop-balloon discard {-d DEVICE | -m MOUNT_POINT | DiskDescriptor.xml}
{ [--automount] [--to-free SIZE] [--min-block MIN_SIZE]
[--defrag] | [--stat] }
DEVICE := ploop device, e.g. /dev/ploop0
MOUNT_POINT := path where fs living on ploop device mounted to
SIZE := NUMBER[KMGT] (maximum space to free)
MIN_SIZE := NUMBER[KMGT] (minimum size of a linear slice to be freed)
Action: discard unused blocks from the image.

[root@node01 ~]# ploop-balloon discard -d /dev/ploop45088 -m /vz/root/1712/var/log --stat
Balloon size: 0MB
Data size: 2716MB
Ploop size: 10240MB
Image size: 4242MB

I wonder how it looks for mount? I can't see any in /proc/mounts

Also what is the best way to check available space inside without logging in if I can't see mounts?
