Can I put a SSD drive in and boot from it and use it and also for the swapping? How can I use the HHD's for /vz? How can I specify the SSD drive as the /{boot} as well as /swap? Is there any reason that the boot drive cannot be specified as read-only but of course /swap can be read-write? I'm thinking of security with this question.

Taking this one step further, my 3Ware 9650SX-4LP has 4 ports, can I install two SSD's and RAID them and still force /vz onto the hard drives? It seems to me that the process of swapping would be very fast and efficient, although there are only so many writes to SSD's.
