Pesonally I'm not familiar with Debian. If someone from the community knows enough to create Debian packages for OpenVZ, I'd be more than happy to accept that contribution, and help as much as I can.

So if you know something who can do it and might me interested -- talk to them.

Do you want support for Debian in a host system or inside VPS?

Eric, Debian is supported inside VPSes and as a host system. Our team will provide template for Debian a bit later. Installation on Debian is also not very hard and will be automated when simple installer will be released.

I think both are good Smile.
ATM I need a virtualization server, my choice will be RHEL 4 I think (to have a weel supported platform) and I need light host with just httpd + mysql, so I think Debian is the choice as VPS for my project.

It doesn't look very difficult to me to install OpenVZ on debian as a base system. I'll try to do it on holidays, and will post a quick HOWTO in case of successful installation.

I had no much problems installing it on Slackware,
though I had to tune sysctls somewhere else due to lack of /etc/sysctl.conf.

You'd better make Debian packages and push them to be a part of official Debian repository.

The only problem is one should use pre-created templates, as template tools are currently relying on rpm and yum to be installed in host system. I'm working on it already.

Do you mean debian packages for vzctl, vzquota, and vzpkg? That's not a problem, I can do it.

By the way, is there any reason not to include cramfs into default kernel config? Debian's mkinitrd by default creates cramfs image Smile

Yep...and for the kernel as well Smile

If this option is needed by Debian system, you can certainly turn it on.
