Hey guys,

I have a CentOS 5.9 server running OpenVZ Latest Kernel 2.6.32-348.16.1.el5.028stab108.1PAE.

I have tried to install the new Ubuntu 12.04/12.10/13.04 and Debian 7.0 templates straight from the OpenVZ OS Templates depository. For some odd reason, once these templates are installed I have no network connections on any of these OS's.

I am unable to ping inbound/outbound aka ping google doesn't work and I can't SSH in.

If I run ifconfig after a reboot, no devices are found at all and I have to re-run the command to set the IP for the server via the Hardware Node and then restart SSH via the HN to get it online. Why does it delete the network config on reboot?

it can be issue with rhel5 based distro and openvz kernel.
try with rhel6 based distro and openvz tools.

Thanks for your reply,

I am unable to upgrade to RHEL6 on this particular server running 12+ VM's already. Is there no work-around on RHEL5 for this that you know off? It just deletes the network settings (etc/init.d/networking) file on reboot every time from what I can see...

what is a version of vzctl?
try add distros to /etc/vz/osrelease.conf file

I have added "ubuntu-13.04 2.6.32" to osrealease.conf - Otherwise it won't even install that Distro at all on RHEL5. As I say, it now installs it but seems to "delete" settings on reboot which is odd!

VZCTL Version (Latest) 4.5.1

I have simillar issue, and i think this is becouse our kernels are 2.6.18 while debian 7 fedora 17/18 need really higher kernel (somewhere in furoms i read this)
BUT myself trying to figure out a fix for this..

meanwhile i have a added my incident to bugzilla:
