I'm using the debian kernel for Wheezy from APT repository:
deb hxxp://download.openvz.org/debian wheezy main

.. and have found it completely void of the PPTP module.

$ modprobe pptp
FATAL: Module pptp not found.

$ locate pptp
/lib/modules/2.6.32-042stab059.7/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/nf_nat_pptp.ko
/lib/modules/2.6.32-042stab059.7/kernel/net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_pptp.ko
/lib/modules/3.2.0-4-amd64/kernel/drivers/net/ppp/pptp.ko
/lib/modules/3.2.0-4-amd64/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/nf_nat_pptp.ko
/lib/modules/3.2.0-4-amd64/kernel/net/netfilter/nf_conntrack_pptp.ko

I then downloaded the source from package "vzkernel-devel" and only the netfilter modules are included.

Why were they removed?
How do I install PPTP module?

I am not interested in running PPPd in a container, I just want to run it on the host as normal.

hm,
maybe this module is included in kernel and not provided as module(not sure)?
what exactly you try to do and what errors you are getting?
