Hello There,

I have recieved a new dedicated server with which I have installed OpenVZ on. I had already setup the IPs and they are visible via ifconfig, my current ifconfig output is as follows:

[root@everest ~]# ifconfig

I have setup and started a container and assigned eth0:1's IP to it. I can access via vzctl enter. However when I try to access SSH via the IP address I get incorrect password when I know I've changed the password correctly and typed the right password. Do you guys think that I've missed something?

Hello,

from what I know your IP addresses shouldn't be attached to the HN.
You should add them to the container using vzctl set xxx --ipadd 1.2.3.4 --save.

Doing an ifconfig on the HN shouldn't give you the IPs of the container.

regards,

Frederic

Absolutely right. Delete those virtual IPs and use vzctl set XXX --ipadd xxxxx --save and ovz will assign the IPs to the containers.

Yerp, I forgot I even created this thread, I figured it out myself Razz

I was mis-advised by someone, hence why I added all the IP's on the node.

The older posts in the tread show a clear solution, don't they? Do you have any additional questions?
