Can anyone assist with this error? What's going on here?

A quick search would probably yield this:

http://wiki.openvz.org/vzkernel-firmware

BTW, welcome to the forum Smile

From bash:

Quote:
[root@n2 ~]# rpm -e vzkernel-firmware
error: package vzkernel-firmware is not installed

From /etc/yum.repos.d/openvz.repo

Quote:
[openvz-kernel-rhel6]
name=OpenVZ RHEL6-based kernel
#baseurl=http : //download.openvz.org/kernel/branches/rhel6-2.6.32/current/
mirrorlist=http : //download.openvz.org/kernel/mirrors-rhel6-2.6.32
enabled=1
gpgcheck=1
gpgkey=http : //download.openvz.org/RPM-GPG-Key-OpenVZ
exclude=vzkernel-firmware

* Added spaces after "http" because I don't have 10 messages yet.

Still, when trying to update:

Quote:
Error: ploop-lib conflicts with vzkernel
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
** Found 4 pre-existing rpmdb problem(s), 'yum check' output follows:
kernel-2.6.32-279.el6.x86_64 has missing requires of kernel-firmware >= ('0', '2.6.32', '279.el6')
kernel-2.6.32-279.5.2.el6.x86_64 has missing requires of kernel-firmware >= ('0', '2.6.32', '279.5.2.el6')

vzkernel-2.6.32-042stab061.2.x86_64 has missing requires of kernel-firmware >= ('0', '2.6.32', '279.5.1.el6')

Any idea of how to fix this?

Thanks!

LATER EDIT: solved by removing older vzkernels.
