Hello,
i would like to run a minimal environment as an OpenVZ guest, very much like the old chroot() environments. Essentially i just want one binary and its library dependencies (if not statically compiled) running inside the guest. Now i understand OpenVZ needs a bit more to operate, for example to set up networking and such. However i definately don't want to go the route of installing an entire OS and stripping it down for now if it can be avoided.
The reason i want one binary in a guest and nothing else? I want to take advantage of the live migration and network isolation features of OpenVZ for those processes.
Now i was looking for a guide ala "doing xyz from scratch" but i couldn't find any good documenation, most documentations deal with existing templates or whole Linux distributions. Now my approach would be:
1. Binary an its dependencies to operate
2. what is necessary for openvz and its tools to work with this minimal environment (ie network setup etc.)
Can anyone point me to good documentation for this or maybe somebody has done this before even?
regards
