Dear community.

I administrate a Cluster of HA Nodes running OpenVZ. In order to be accesible for our End Customers, we also use Proxmox and some of our operations are done via its GUI.
Most of our datastores are on NFS.

During the last week, we received some complaints from our customers that their VPS suddendly stopped repsonding. We did verify this and we also discovered that some of the VPS were stuck in the shutdown proccess.

All of our Nodes are fully updated and patched (OpenVZ, kernels, Proxmox, OS etc.)

We suspect and investigate that this bug is triggered only when the VPS is rebooted.

Unfortunately, the containers could not be destroyed, unmounted, killed or execute commands to debug the reason. The only log entry that is valuable for us is the following:

pvedaemon[797424]: command '/usr/sbin/vzctl exec XXXXXX /bin/cat /proc/net/dev' failed: exit code 8
pvestatd[350510]: command '/usr/sbin/vzctl exec XXXXXX /bin/cat /proc/net/dev' failed: exit code 8

Any advises please ?
Any hints ?
Did any of the last updates break proper operation ?

Thanks
TZ
