for those of you using openvz on ubuntu 10.04 (i'm currently deciding whether to use centos or scientific on the host for future projects):

i upgraded from vzctl 3.* to vzctl4.1.1 and found out, that at least vzctl 4.1.1 requires libcgroup1 0.35. lucid only provied libcgroup 0.34 here the error message

vzctl: /usr/lib/libcgroup.so.1: version `CGROUP_0.35' not found (required by /usr/lib/libvzctl-4.1.1.so)

using 0.37 from ubuntu 12.04 worked for me:
