Is ploop optimized for use on SSDs?

Also, is ploop ready for production use yet? (Production for webserver CTs - nginx, php, mysql, etc.)

If not, what are the known outstanding issues and how long before stable for production use.

Let's assume we have a EXT4 filesystem mounted with "discard" option inside a container. So when files are deleted they are replaced with zeros in the background.

Ploop disk images should detect the zeros and shrink the disk image automatically to keep the image files as small as possible!

Anyone know the answers to these questions?

I see that ploop 1.5 has been released, but the warning not to use it in production is still in place. Any idea how much longer until there is confidence in production use?

I mainly want to use ploop for mysql db, including the ability to snapshot the database.

I'm interesting too, today we setup ssd for db partitions in ct's with ploop, and we need to know how effective and not deadly ploop for ssd disks.
