is there an alternative to creating a virtual partition (loop dev) within a container?

i need to set a quota on a cache folder within a container.

thanks!

really just want to create a cache directory like /tmp/cache and make sure it doesn't grow out of control by setting a quota on it. is there an easy way to do this inside a container? i use to create virtual partitions for this.

^ thank you so much for your reply. any reply is wonderful right now.

unfortunately, this cache directory syncs with a cloud object so if files were removed they would just be redownloaded. I have to actually set a cap on it so it just won't grow after a certain point.

tmpwatch would be good after that so it will remove old files from something that is maxed out though.

any other ideas are very welcome. thanks!

Apart from trying to piss off everyone, what's the point in bumping your thread over and over and over again?

This is not a busy forum. Your thread didn't even dissapear from the first page. Give it a rest.

because it displays the lack of response and that other alternatives are better if there's not an active system for issues such as this.

i will never stop bumping it until it's resolved. if you don't like it or do not have any solutions, don't read it and don't reply.

ps- thank you for your reply. Smile

Hi.
You can also mount another filesystem in /tmp/cache.

There're instructions on how to do that in here already Wink
