Linux kernel version 3.0.0 has been released.
Are there plans to patch the new kernel series, which is coming with next distribution versions?

It takes a long way to release a stable version of OpenVZ in a just first released new kernel version. Please note that just the first releases are full of bugs which needs to be fixed to adjust they are stabel for production platforms.
Kind regards,

OpenVZ developers have stated that they are currently devoting their resources into getting more OpenVZ patches into the regular kernel and improving RHEL 6 kernel rather than releasing out of tree patches for 3.x kernels.
I'm sure a 3.x devel patch will be released eventually, as it was the case with earlier kernels...
There is no time plan that I know of... And I personally hope that at least one 3.x patch will happen before RHEL 7 appears.
I can understand the OpenVZ approach, though. If I must choose, I'd rather have a great RHEL 6 kernel (it's getting there) than a new 3.x devel kernel to play with...
