Hello,

I am trying to install ulogd and ulogd-mysql on Debian 6.0 VE using aptitude. I am getting errors like:

Starting netfilter userspace log daemon: Sat Mar 10 10:34:08 2012 <8> ulogd.c:737 unable to create ipulogd handle
ERROR: Unable to bind netlink socket: No such file or directory
invoke-rc.d: initscript ulogd, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing ulogd (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
dpkg: dependency problems prevent configuration of ulogd-mysql:
 ulogd-mysql depends on ulogd (= 1.24-3); however:
Package ulogd is not configured yet.
dpkg: error processing ulogd-mysql (--configure):
 dependency problems - leaving unconfigured
Errors were encountered while processing:
 ulogd
 ulogd-mysql

and ulogd does not work. How can I do to enable ulogd for the Debian VE? Is there something to do with the hardware node?

Using kernel version 2.6.18-274.18.1.el5.028stab098.1 on CentOS 5.8. iptables is configured and working on VE and HW node.

Thanks Smile

I have tried

modprobe ipt_ULOG

on the HW node. lsmod output seems well, at least includes ipt_ULOG on some lines. Also tried adding "ipt_ULOG" to the VE configuration file and restarted. I got

Warning: Unknown iptable module: ipt_ULOG, skipped

Are there any ideas about this?

Hello,

Commenting IPTABLES lines in vz.conf and {VE_ID}.conf resolved the issue.
