Hi,

I migrated a container from one hardware node to another. There is a strange issue now with the migrated container in the new hardware node. The outbound traffic in the container works only when the old hardware node is also turned on. If the old hardware node is shutdown, the network will not work in the container ( even it is not possible to ping to another IP from container ).

I ran tshark ( packet capture ) in the old hardware node, and I could see traffic getting routed through the old hardware node. Why is this happening? How can I make the container use the new hardware node for network routing?

Please help!

Ahh, are they both using the same IP maybe?

No, both hardware nodes have different IP address. Old one using 1.150 and new one using 1.120.

...are they assigned more than 1 ip address?

It sounds a lot like an IP problem to me.

Maybe compare /etc/vz/CTID.conf on both and see what you can see.

Do they both use the same gateway IP? Maybe it's an upstream problem with the router. Are your IP blocks set up correctly?

Just throwing out some ideas.

Managed to fix the problem temporarily.

If I set another IP as venet0:0 and move existing IP to venet0:1, all is fine.
