Which VPS using most io [message #45147]

I have noticed that the iowait on my node is starting to shoot up. Do you guys know any commands that will help me see which of the VPS's are using the most io and causing the iowait?

I use iotop
http://guichaz.free.fr/iotop/

But if it's excessive logging then that won't tell you much.

Also watch top and when you see a busy process hit Ctl-C then
"vzpid PID" to see which VPS it's coming from.

Chasing down I/O loading can be a bit of a PiTA. There doesn't seem to be any one magic bullet that is good at tracking this down.

data is stored in /proc/bc/<CTID>/ioacct

you may make a script to calculate all CT's ioacct increment (including reading writing etc.) with comparison to the previous value in order to find out the most consuming one.
